Sejarah London Sumatra dimulai seabad yang lalu di Sumatera bagian Timur Laut di jaman pemerintahan Hindia Belanda. Masa itu merupakan era penemuan dan penjelajahan, dimana para petualang melakukan perjalanan jauh untuk mencari keberuntungan dan peluang usaha. Di sebuah perkebunan tembakau dan kopi yang kecil namun tertata dengan baik di Begerpang, sekitar 50 kilometer sebelah Selatan kota Medan, ditanamkan bibit usaha yang kemudian tumbuh menjadi kelompok perkebunan besar, dan salah satu perusahaan di Indonesia yang tertua..

“Entering Our Centennial Year : 1906 - 2006”

The history of London Sumatra Plantations began a century ago in the Northeastern parts of Sumatera in the Netherlands Indies. It was the era of discovery and frontiership, where intrepid men travelled far and wide in search of fortune and enterprise. In a small but established tobacco and coffee estate at Begerpang, some 50 kilometres South of Medan, was sown the seeds of an enterprise that would grow to become major plantation estates and one of Indonesia’s longest serving companies.
